Why It Matters
20,000 Breaths a Day
That's roughly how many we take. For most adults, many of those breaths go through the mouth, come from the upper chest, and move more air than the body needs. That habit is linked to:
Sleep
Snoring and restless sleep
Exercise
Exercise-induced asthma (EIB) and breathlessness during workouts
Stress
Anxiety, racing thoughts and panic-like "air hunger"
Posture
Neck, shoulder and low-back tension
Energy
Fatigue, brain fog and slow recovery
The Hour
What You'll Do
This is a clinic, not a lecture. You'll be measuring and practicing from the first few minutes.
Measure Your Breathing
You'll take the BOLT test, a simple timed breath-hold that gives you a score for how you breathe right now. It's your baseline, and the number you'll watch improve.
Learn Why CO₂ Matters
Carbon dioxide isn't just waste gas. It's key to getting oxygen out of your blood and into your tissues. Once that clicks, the rest of the hour makes sense.
Read the CO₂ guide →Retrain Three Skills
Nasal breathing, a slower pace, and breathing with your diaphragm. We'll practice each one together so you know what it should feel like.
Read the functional breathing guide →Take It Home
What You'll Leave With
Your baseline score
A number you can re-test at home to see whether your breathing is changing.
A short daily practice
Small enough to actually do, built from the three skills you practiced in the room.
Tools for real life
Specific things to try for sleep, for exercise, and for moments of stress.

Your Instructor
Nick Sorrell
I'm a certified Advanced Instructor with Oxygen Advantage, a science-based approach to breathing.
During my years as a Cincinnati firefighter, overnight shifts taught me firsthand what broken sleep, chronic stress and poor recovery do to the body. Retraining my breathing became one of my most powerful tools for fixing them.
Today I teach functional and athletic breathing to help people sleep better, stay calm under pressure and perform at their best.
